Alexander McQueen for Samsonite

Shying away from the mundane, Samsonite's Black Label by Alexander McQueen get a nice shiny update. The two pieces seen here (hero & crocodile) get a super shiny and resilient coating, developed to match the visually sticking features of the hard cases. And yes, the Hero piece is modeled after a human ribcage.

The La Cultura Eleva chair by dotdotdot for Plus Design. This "high chair" for grown folks allows you to keep your reading library nestled below, while you read your latest and greatest atop this unique A-frame chair. As a drawing table and this could be the best seat in the house.

Banana Derby X AZ State Fair

For the past month I have had to run a live broadcast from the AZ State Fair. People kept telling us about the Banana Derby and how we had to go see it. We found out that the Banana Derby was a race involving Spider Monkeys riding dogs. Heres a video for your pleasure.

After the race you could take a picture with the winner of the race for $10 or you could give the monkey a quarter which is suppose to be good luck. Me being the big spender that I am of course I gave the monkey a quarter. I would rather have good luck than a picture with this fury little creature.

I've stumbled across this dude on the web a couple of times, so I'm gonna do a post. The work of Kenyon B is pretty fuckin ill. Lots of satire and pretty decent moral/world/political views. The dopest part is that he sells originals (that don't break the bank) and prints for cheap!

"Secret History of KISS"

The "Secret History of KISS" exhibit by Ron English is a nod to the classics as he jazzes them up with more modern KISS inspired makeup. The exhibit which debuted at Basel, Miami in 2007 is now up at the Shooting Gallery SF. Apparently its being received well, as 30% of the paintings are SOLD. Looks like the FF have some creative competition. LOL.

Triumvir x Fly Streetwear x Nike SB

My buddies over at Triumvir are set to release this pretty dope SB Dunk alongside with Fly Streetwear. Brandon (the owner of Triumvir) used to do custom sneakers from his parents garage before starting Triumvir. Fly Streetwear is a very special skate shop in China that has been very important in the development of the street cultures over there. So together, this Chinese duo bring you this; inspired by freeways, "bird flu' masks, noodles, and the Qing Dynasty.

Doctor Popular

As some of you may already know, I LOVE denim. Preferably in the raw selvedge variety. A while back, I stumbled on this cat that makes little knick knacks out of super premium denim. His name is Doctor Popular or Doc Pop for short, and this is one of his many trades. His day to day job is doing alterations for Self Edge in SF. Self Edge has one of the best denim accounts in the country and is one of few stores in this hemisphere that does its alterations on a vintage chain-stitcher (the way it should be done). Most of his crafts are made with premium Japanese selvedge denim that is acquired from the scraps of alterations. Anyways, here are a couple of things that he has done lately, and be on the lookout for some custom stuff that I am having done, along with some media coverage... I hope.
