Life Lessons

Lesson #1: BACK YOUR SHIT UP.
-- whether its a couple seasons of apparel designs, or a fishing trip story from last summer. Always remember to back that shit up (a couple of colleagues learned this the hard way this past summer...).

Lesson #2: DON'T EAT SUBWAY TUNA AFTER 6pm.

Thursday

V.C.M. - Chris Henry

Bengals wide receiver, Chris Henry died early this morning from serious injuries suffered during a domestic dispute with this soon -to-be wife. Apparently Henry fell out of the back of a moving truck (that she was driving) and onto the road... dying later in the hospital. Sad.

(not to be funny whatsoever, but there is a trend when there are vehicles involved in domestic disputes. Tiger Woods can attest to that. So the lesson here is just stay away from cars when fighting with your girl/man. Bad things are sure to happen.)

Wednesday

Foreign Exchange for a Grammy!

Yep, the duo consisting of Phonte (Little Brother) and Nicolay have been nomiated for a Grammy. The nominated song "Daykeeper" was their 1st single of the album Leave It All Behind; the groups 2nd studio album. Congratulations to them and good luck on the results. Below is a video they put together outlining their beginnings and the song. PLEASE keep supporting good music!

All That Really Matters

Sometimes, all that really matters in this world is Spiderman, dinosaurs, & a good book. We forget these things as we grow up!

How Many Rappers?

Question: How many rappers do you think will be sporting these new Gucci goggles on the side of their head in their upcoming videos like its was 1995? My guess is at least 6. Blag.

"Actually Grandad, Christmas is a Pagan Holiday..."

Thanks, Again

We just wanted to take a brief time out to say thank you. We have had some pretty special things going on and we could not have done it without a strong core of people and supporters. Slim and I have been working on DD for almost 2 years now, and while our offerings have been minimal thus far, the future is definitely bright.

Have a good holiday.... "shit just got real".

Friday

Mascot

We have a mascot... her name is Olive.

Fresh Ink

Today, Slim popped the cherry on his right arm with a new tatt. Andrick (the artist) is young, but is fuckin DOPE. More to come for sure.

This one is dark, but it reads "Family First"

Is It Winter Yet!?

As we approach the colder months of the year (I know some of the country is already there, but in AZ, we are still approaching), I begin to switch things around in my closets and prepare for winters best. Winter clothing has a certain character about it that cannot be captured in any other season of apparel. Not just cause of the obvious characteristics of length and weight, but more-so for the particular colors, patterns and of course, materials. Here is just a few examples of what I mean and why I get so hyped about winter.

Wednesday

Wednesday

Tenderloin Project x Black Scale. REAL SHIT.

The Tenderloin Project: help and awareness to San Francisco's troubled Tenderloin area, is in full swing. This video shows a little insight to some of the areas inhabitants and gives them a real "human" aspect. I think sometimes in life, we write-off people like this as just plain objects in our environment... like a rock or a sign... but they are in fact human like the rest of us and sometimes it takes a group or a video to bring light to that, Unfortunately. Black Scale has done up a small run of apparel in conjunction with this project and all proceeds will go back to benefit the people of the area. Available at the new Black Scale flagship store.

Highpoint x Acapulco Gold 2yr anniversary set

As you know, Highpoint will be throwing a party this Friday to celebrate its 2yr anniversary. To make things super legit, they have teamed up with Acapulco Gold for this shirt and snapback set. Highpoint is AG's only account in the state, as they lend their east coast skate style to us in the dry desert. Be sure to pick something up at the party as soon as you get there... these will go fast!

Monday

sorry for the radio DJ shit, but its the only version that exists right now.

Tuesday

Supreme Suggestive Advertising

I really don't know how these dudes do it. I mean they manage to get the illest and/or most "hyped" collaborations, have SUPER limited accounts, and they have this knack for turning obscure and ordinary things into cult-favorites (ie. Kermit tee, incense holder, stickers, box logo anything...). Anyways, their advertising dept. deserves most of the credit. Seen here is a good example: get Rosa Acosta to take a pic with Terry Richardson and put her in a Supreme bikini... licking a Supreme x Buck ranger knife.

Fresh Fiends x Hello Drama

Our sisters over at Fresh Fiends are about to drop a new collaborative piece with Los Angeles accessory maker, Hello Drama. Nice use of the FF to commemorate the Fresh Fiends and their ties to the fashion world (see org. Fendi logo). Coming soon.

Tuesday

witchy woman

I'm in love with a clothing line called WITCHES. Created by two 18 year old girls, the brand is still a complete mystery. So far, the only thing I know is that SUPPOSEDLY, Ron Herman carried them at one point. Besides that, I've only been able to catch a glimpse of their Spring 2010 line, and some photos from their launch party back in March. Strangely there is no contact email address or phone number. It's inconvenient but alluring at the same time. Hmmm.

Good Weekend for Headgear

Speaking of Doom, Madvillainy has to be one of the illest hip hop covers EVER.

Thursday

More Headgear

As you already know, we plan on dropping our collaboration hat with Highpoint this Saturday... be sure to jump on that while you can. We also have another piece to keep your head covered. Our snapbacks our finally here! In case you cant tell, they are grey/black felt wool and the fit is nice and deep. These will be part of our upcoming Holiday release, but you MAY be able to get one early if you are at Highpoint this weekend!
